Void Lich Lore!
In the shifting abyss of Nullworlds, where broken realities drift like ash across endless dark, there are mages who study the Void…
…and there are those who let it study them back.
The first Void Lich was not born — it was unmade.
Once a mortal archmage obsessed with conquering death, the scholar ventured beyond the sealed rifts of Nullworlds, seeking the silent expanse known only as the Hollow Veil. There, in the space between worlds, the Void whispered a truth: death was not an end — it was an anchor. To transcend it, one must sever the anchor entirely.
The ritual required no sacrifice of blood.
It demanded identity.
The mage carved runes not into stone, but into their own soul. Memory faded. Flesh thinned. The heartbeat slowed… then stopped. Yet the body did not fall. The Void had replaced what life once was. In that stillness, the first Void Lich opened new eyes — not of sight, but of perception.
They no longer felt warmth.
They no longer feared time.
They no longer lived.
They persisted.
